Halloween Finger Print Art

These creepy little finger print critters are a fun addition to cards and gifts for grandparents, teachers, and friends around Halloween.

I bought this little foam frame craft kit with the parts to make a dozen frames on clearance for under a buck last year after Halloween and stored it away for this year.  They are adorable frames, but I didn't really want to spend money on pictures to go in what really amounts to a throw-away craft.  It's fun to make them, but no one is really going to hold on to them forever and ever like they might a normal frame.  So I just added another layer of craft and had each of the kids make a finger print in the frame to decorate like a creepy crawly.

The steps to making your critters are probably pretty self explanatory, so I won't go into details about how to draw 8 legs on a spider.  If you have younger kiddos, though, you can just let them make their finger prints into a monster with no real required parts.  Or -oooohhh, wouldn't this be fun? - you could make green finger prints and stick a small googely eye in the middle and have tiny Mike's from Monster's Inc.!

Finger print crafts are fun and easy and make grandma's and grandpa's smile.
